Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapists are part of the education team within a school district. They support and develop interventions plans for identified students in the areas of sensory processing, fine motor skills, prewriting and visual motor skills that support their academic learning. Another role of the occupational therapist is to assist students to participate in desired daily life activities and curricular activities and routines. This may include participation in curricular learning and behavior by focusing on adaptive or assistive technology or adaptations on routines in daily living and life skills that makes school accessible based upon each child’s individual needs.
